So if you’re a Peloton rider looking to boost your motivation and connect with others in the community, read on to learn how to high five on Peloton.
How To High Five On Peloton
High fives on Peloton are a way of connecting with other Peloton users who are doing a workout at the same time as you. You can send high fives to people on your leaderboard and they can send high fives back to you.
In short: anyone in a Peloton class can high five anyone else who is simultaneously in the same class.
You can see the high fives you receive from other people in the ‘Feed’ on the left side of your screen:
You may also receive high fives from Instructors. And if you do, they will also appear in your Feed.
High fives are not saved in the way that likes on Facebook are. Once your ride is over, your high fives vanish into thin air!
In that sense, high fives are all about being in the moment.
High Fives and the Peloton community
One of the things that made Peloton so successful is the sense of community that it creates. And Peloton does that by allowing users to interact with each other.
High fives are one of the ways you can interact with other Peloton users. It’s a great feeling when you’re pushing yourself to the max, and you’re halfway through your workout and you suddenly see that someone’s given you a high five.
It makes you feel you belong to something that’s bigger than you.
How to High Five on Peloton

Then tap on the person’s avatar or face icon – they will receive a high five from you:
However, you can only send high fives to people who are currently in the same class or workout as you. So, if you are in an ‘on-demand’ class, make sure to select the ‘Here Now’ tab:
If you’re in a live class, you don’t need to worry about that, as there will only be one (live) tab.
If someone sends a high five to you, you’ll see it in the ‘Feed’ tab on the left side of your Peloton screen. To send them a high five in return, tap their avatar or face icon, and they’ll get a notification that you high-fived them back!
You can also send high fives on the Peloton iOS app.
Benefits of High Fives on Peloton
Sending and receiving a high five on Peloton is fun, of course. But what are the benefits of high fives on Peloton?
There are three main reasons you might want to start ‘high fiving’ during your Peloton workouts:
- It’s easy to get into a slump about halfway through a workout. Sending and receiving high fives can give you that vital boost you need to keep you going.
- Peloton is a community and if you tap into that, your Peloton sessions will become something fun that you look forward to and not just a chore. High fives are a great way to engage with other people in the Peloton community.
- Interacting with other people in the Peloton community will encourage you to work out more regularly. Doing anything on your own can quickly become a lonely chore. But make it social, and you have a great reason to keep on track with your workouts.
How do I see how many High Fives I received?
Peloton doesn’t have a ‘high five counter’. To see how many high fives you got, you’ll need to scroll through the notifications in your ‘Feed’ tab.
How to get more High Fives on Peloton
The best way to get more high fives is to send more to other people.
Reciprocity is a powerful principle in human relationships, so make sure you are sending out high fives to people in your live class.
Another thing you can do to get more high fives is to fill out your Peloton Public Profile. Make sure to specify what city you live in – people are much more likely to send you high fives if they see you are in the same area.
