The short answer is no: Chamberlain MyQ does not work with Google Home by default.
But there are two simple workarounds: you can use a MyQ subscription (for a small annual fee) or you can use IFTTT (If This Then That) completely free of charge.

What is MyQ Smart Hub?
MyQ Smart Hub is a retrofit kit that monitors and controls your garage door from anywhere. It is designed to turn any garage door opener into a smart garage door.

What is Google Home?
MyQ Smart Hub connects with Google Assistant but not with Google Home.
So what’s the difference?
Google Home is a line of smart speakers that includes the original Google Home, Google Home Hub, Google Home Mini, and Nest. Google Home is a smart speaker that can answer informational queries, provide weather reports, and manage your calendar.
Google Assistant, on the other hand, is not a physical object but a piece of software that uses natural language processing to convert commands into actions. Google Assistant is Google’s version of Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri.
In this article, we’ll use Google Assistant to connect MyQ to Google Home.
How To Connect MyQ To Google Assistant
There are two ways to connect MyQ Smart Hub with Google Assistant:
Method #1 – with a subscription
For a small annual subscription, you can get a MyQ service that connects My Smart Hub with Google Assistant. Here is how to do it:
In your smartphone browser, type in ‘myqservices.com’.
Then log in to your MyQ account. If you don’t have one, create a new account.
Once you are logged in, tap on “Add Subscription”.
Then tap ‘Connect MyQ to Google Home’:
At time of writing, ‘Connect MyQ to Google Home’ is free. However, by the time you read this, that offer may have expired. If so, it will cost $1 per month or $10 per year.
Once you have selected your plan, go back to the MyQ app.
Tap on the hamburger menu in the top left corner and choose ‘Settings’. Then scroll down and tap on ‘Works with MyQ’.
Next, tap on the Google Assistant button and this will link the MyQ Smart Hub to Google Assistant. You can now use voice commands to control your garage door.
Method #2 – using IFTTT
The other way to connect MyQ with Google Assistant is through IFTTT. The advantage of this method is that you won’t need a subscription.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Log into your IFTTT account.
- Make a new applet by clicking ‘Explore’ and ‘Create’.
- Bring up the IF trigger by clicking on ‘+’.
- Search for ‘Google Assistant’ and then choose ‘Say a simple phrase’.
- Record a statement such as ‘Close garage door’ and create the trigger.
- Now click on the ‘+’ sign again and create the ‘Then That’ command.
- Search for ‘MyQ’ and select ‘Close garage door’ or whatever statement you entered as the voice command.
- Select ‘garage door’ and press ‘Create action’.
And that’s it!
